Product Overview
The CRL Closed Cell Backer Rod is a highly effective product designed to provide optimal support and thickness control for elastomeric and cold-applied sealants. This round, flexible, closed-cell polyethylene foam with an exterior "skin" is specifically engineered to become an integral part of the joint, offering a range of diameters to accommodate joints from 3/16" to 1-5/8" (5 to 41 mm).
The Backer Rod's unique design limits the depth of the sealant, preventing excessive use and promoting proper joint design. Its non-bonding "skin" allows the rod to stretch and recover with joint movement, minimizing stress at the points of adhesion to the substrate.
To emphasize, 100" increments of backer rod do not come on a roll. Should you require a roll, please note that the minimum order is 2000'.
