Each CRL FA Series 4/40 and 5/50 Weight Range Sash Balances require one of several types of nylon guides to be riveted onto the top and bottom of the channel. Customers have the option to either order channel balances with pre-attached guides from the factory or to order guide kits with rivets included and mount the guides themselves. Additionally, CRL offers the practical Cat. No. H3740 Rivet Set Tool, which effectively mushrooms the rivet, ensuring a very strong set.

These sash balances measure 5/8" (16 mm) in depth but are referred to as 1/2" (13 mm) in the trade. They are available in 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 weight range options, with lengths ranging from 13" to 43" (330 mm to 1.09 m).

It's important to note that there have been a few window manufacturers that have used special 1/2" (12.7 mm) increment channel lengths.
