These drills give outstanding results when exacting conditions are met. The CRL DCD Series features an extra long 1-3/8" by 3/8" (35 by 9.5 mm) diameter shank for a positive grip on the drill. The CRL HBT Series features Belgian style mounting threads, also known as 1/2" (12.7 mm, gas thread), which are popular choices for U.S. and European glass drilling machines.IMPORTANT NOTE: CRL DCD and HBT Series Diamond Drills have a very thin wall which makes them EXTREMELY FRAGILE. They are intended for the drilling of flat (plate) glass ONLY, in a true running production type drilling press. NEVER use in any type of hand drill. The use of these drills in any manner other than as specified above may damage them and will void any warranty. Always wear the proper safety gear including gloves and eye protection when drilling glass. Work should be performed on a flat, horizontal surface. A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt Device Cat. No. GF1 must be used when using any type of electric tool in conjunction with water or coolant. Failure to follow any of these precautions can result in operator injury.NOTE: Sharpening or "dressing" of this drill before each use will substantially increase its cutting capabilities and minimize "glazing" or dulling of the bit.
