CRL Saint-Gobain/Norton Thermalbond® Tape is a high-density, semi-rigid foam tape specifically designed for use as a spacer in structural silicone glazing systems. This tape is chemically compatible with all tested silicones and has been proven to work effectively with commercial silicone sealants used for structural glazing. It is intended for use as a spacer for glass, metal, stone, mineral cement, and plastic panels in structural silicone glazing systems.

It's important to note that the tape is not a structural component and should not be used as part of the permanent fastening system or to reduce the amount of recommended silicone adhesive. The product comes in an architectural black finish and is available in nine stock sizes, with other sizes available on special orders. Its typical properties include a density of 31 lbs./cu.ft., hardness of 35 durometer Shore A, and a force to compress 10% at 31 psi.

Before application, it's crucial to thoroughly clean contact surfaces, as the tape cannot be repositioned after the initial contact. In certain cases, priming surfaces with Norton Tite-R-Bond Adhesion Promoter may be necessary.
