Product Overview
CRL 777 Butyl Rubber is a specialized sealant made from butyl and age-resistant polymers. It offers exceptional weathering properties and strong adhesion to clean surfaces. It can withstand joint movement of ± 10% without compromising its water-tightness and has UV protection for a long service life.
Primary Uses This sealant is ideal for outdoor use and adheres well to wood, masonry, glass, concrete, some plastics, and metal surfaces. It is suitable for use in hidden areas, such as under sill cans, thresholds, and around screw heads. It also works well between metal building panels, with wall-mounted air conditioning units, under aluminum siding, and with gutters. The application temperature range is 40° to 120°F (4° to 49°C), and the service temperature range is -20° to 200°F (-29° to 93°C). It requires 24 hours for paint to dry.

Technical Data This sealant meets Federal Specifications TT-S-001657, Type 1, TT-C-1796A, ASTM C 1311, and AAMA 808.3-05. It is also USDA Certified.
Product Warning: Avoid using this sealant for horizontal decks, patios, driveways, or terrace joints where abrasion or physical abuse occurs. It is also not suitable for window glazing applications or hidden joint details that require a non-skinning, non-hardening sealant. CRL 777 has a solvent-based curing system, which may produce a slight odor of mineral spirits during application. Use caution if the odor may be objectionable, such as in refrigeration units that will be stocked soon after construction. Additionally, refer to the cartridge label and Specification Data Sheet for extra limitations. Note that all colors are available in bulk packaging.
